  • Details
Incense burner starter set- 10 hand rolled Palo Santo Incense cones with Solid Brass censer (incense burner).

This set includes a beautiful solid polished brass censer with a removable top for easy use and cleaning. The censer has a sturdy pedestal base as well as three hanging chains to allow it to either be used stationary or suspended or carried. The Censer is 4.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide with perfectly placed holes in the lid of the censer to allow a perfect burn and the smoke to be diffused at a consistent rate. The very top of the censer forms a chimney for the smoke to escape as well.

Included in the set is a set of 10 XL Palo Santo Incense cones which are 1.5 - 2 inches tall and may be easily broken into pieces for use when less smoke is needed. These cones produce a very large amount of smoke and are often best used in smaller pieces when used in closed spaces.

    USE:
There are many ways to use your censer so here are a few ways I prefer.

    Incense cones-
Place 2-4 tablespoons of any type of clean sand or salt (I prefer pink Himalayan sea salt) in the bottom of the censor to make a bed to insulate the incense and help regulate the burn rate. Place one cone on the bed of sand or salt and light it, blow gently on the top until you see an ember begin then replace the top of the censer.

    Loose incense and resin-
Place 2-4 tablespoons of any type of clean sand or salt (I prefer pink Himalayan sea salt) in the bottom of the censor to make a bed to insulate the incense and help regulate the burn rate. Hold a charcoal briquete with tongs and light it, when the sparks have stopped and the charcoal begins to blow place it on the bed of salt or sand. Carefully add your loose incense, resin or blend on top of the charcoal and wait for the smoke to begin to rise before replacing the lid.

Care and cleaning- When your incense if finished and the censer has completely cooled pour your salt/sand and burned incense or resin into a heat safe container and gently wipe out the bowl of the censer. You may clean the censer with mild soap and water if needed.

I save my salt and ash in a heat safe container with a lid (reused candle jars are perfect) for later use as black salt. When you have the desired amount saved, pour it into a mortar and pestle and grind it into a fine powder to crush any leftover incense or herbs. Black salt has many uses for protection and intention setting. I like to leave a small open bowl of it sitting in well traveled areas of my home to cleanse the space as well as sprinkling it around entry points to my home. If you are going to pour it outside across your drive or pathways you can skip the cursing it step.

Cones for refill are available here-

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I trim and light my wooden wick?

Check out our blog for care and burning tips
    www.teresalynns.com/blog

If lighting seems difficult, the wick is too far above the surface of the wax when the candle is initially lit. Always light at the wax level, not the top of the wick.

Solution: Make sure the wick is trimmed to be no longer than 1/8” – 3/16” / 6.4mm – 4.8mm above the wax. This seems counterintuitive, as we think a longer wick will make a larger flame, but it will not. The longer the wick, the harder it is for the wax to flow up to the top.
(The Wooden Wick patented wood wick company).

    Are Soy Candles Safe?

Now let’s talk about wax. Unless you are eating your candles (which you shouldn’t be) you don’t need to worry about them being produced with “Organic Soy wax”. This is good because organic soy wax doesn’t exist.

The process of converting the oil into a wax itself renders the wax ineligible for organic certification. Even if a manufacture used the 5-9% of soybeans grown in the USA that are Organic Bean, the process itself makes them not organic.
Should you worry about this? The simple answer is no, soy wax is safe. You should worry about a company that claims their soy candles are organic. We use wax made with only Renewable Midwest Grown Soybeans.

We use only phthalate free fragrance oils and essential oil blends in our products.

What do I do if my item is received damaged or is lost in transit?

We are happy to assist you with filing a claim with USPS if you received a damaged item or your package is lost.

FILING CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES is now the responsibility of the customer as USPS has changed their policies and requires the BUYER to present the damaged package along with proof of payment from your financial institute (all things we do not have).

Note: You must create an account with the USPS if you don’t already have one.

***When filing a claim with USPS, the damaged article, container, packaging, and any other items received must be presented to the Postal Service for inspection along with proof of payment from your financial institution. Be certain to safely save the entire box, label and all the contents.**

    Return to Sender packages

Packages received back to us as RTS (Return to Sender) may be resent at your request by purchasing a postage listing customized for your parcel and verified address.

We are not responsible for invalid addresses, forwarded mail or refused parcels and will not refund or pay return shipping.

Return postage will be calculated at our actual cost, not the discounted rate of $9.00 we offer on original purchases.

We will contact you via messages with a link to the shipping listing which will be active for 100 days.

After the 100 day period the listing will expire and the parcel contents will be donated to a local charity when appropriate.

    Allergy and sensitivities

We use products that may be made with nuts, dairy, soy, plant materials, essential oils and fragrances.

There is always the possibility for cross exposure within our studio/lab. People with sensitivities or allergies should consider avoiding scented and fragrances products.

Many of our item listings will include the focal scents/oils we use. We do not provide inclusive lists of our essentials oils used in all of our blends and formulas as many are proprietary (trade secrets) combinations specific to our brand.

How long do our candles burn?

The burn time for our candles varies based different variables, such as wax type. wick size, fragrance and type of vessel used. For smaller candles with smaller wicks, they burn an average 7-9 hours per ounce of wax. Larger candles may have large wicks which uses more wax to burn. They burn about 5-7 hours per ounce. Our speciality candles with beeswax blends may burn 7-9 hours per ounce, while our tea lights average 5-6 hours each.
Following our candle care and instruction guide will give you the best burn from each candle. Be sure to read and follow your candle care card included with your order.
