"Historical Background of the Witch Trials
In June of 1692, the special Court of Oyer (to hear) and Terminer (to decide) sat in Salem to hear the cases of witchcraft. Presided over by Chief Justice William Stoughton, the court was made up of magistrates and jurors. The first to be tried was Bridget Bishop of Salem who was found guilty and was hanged on June 10. Thirteen women and five men from all stations of life followed her to the gallows on three successive hanging days before the court was disbanded by Governor William Phipps in October of that year. The Superior Court of Judicature, formed to replace the “witchcraft” court, did not allow spectral evidence. This belief in the power of the accused to use their invisible shapes or spectres to torture their victims had sealed the fates of those tried by the Court of Oyer and Terminer. The new court released those awaiting trial and pardoned those awaiting execution. In effect, the Salem Witch Trials were over.
As years passed, apologies were offered and restitution was made to the victims’ families. Historians and sociologists have examined this most complex episode in our history so that we may understand the issues of that era and view subsequent events with heightened awareness. The parallels between the Salem Witch Trials and more modem examples of “witch hunting” like the McCarthy hearings of the 1950’s, are remarkable. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I trim and light my wooden wick?

Check out our blog for care and burning tips
    www.teresalynns.com/blog

If lighting seems difficult, the wick is too far above the surface of the wax when the candle is initially lit. Always light at the wax level, not the top of the wick.

Solution: Make sure the wick is trimmed to be no longer than 1/8” – 3/16” / 6.4mm – 4.8mm above the wax. This seems counterintuitive, as we think a longer wick will make a larger flame, but it will not. The longer the wick, the harder it is for the wax to flow up to the top.
(The Wooden Wick patented wood wick company).

    Are Soy Candles Safe?

Now let’s talk about wax. Unless you are eating your candles (which you shouldn’t be) you don’t need to worry about them being produced with “Organic Soy wax”. This is good because organic soy wax doesn’t exist.

The process of converting the oil into a wax itself renders the wax ineligible for organic certification. Even if a manufacture used the 5-9% of soybeans grown in the USA that are Organic Bean, the process itself makes them not organic.
Should you worry about this? The simple answer is no, soy wax is safe. You should worry about a company that claims their soy candles are organic. We use wax made with only Renewable Midwest Grown Soybeans.

We use only phthalate free fragrance oils and essential oil blends in our products.

What do I do if my item is received damaged or is lost in transit?

We are happy to assist you with filing a claim with USPS if you received a damaged item or your package is lost.

FILING CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES is now the responsibility of the customer as USPS has changed their policies and requires the BUYER to present the damaged package along with proof of payment from your financial institute (all things we do not have).

Note: You must create an account with the USPS if you don’t already have one.

***When filing a claim with USPS, the damaged article, container, packaging, and any other items received must be presented to the Postal Service for inspection along with proof of payment from your financial institution. Be certain to safely save the entire box, label and all the contents.**

    Return to Sender packages

Packages received back to us as RTS (Return to Sender) may be resent at your request by purchasing a postage listing customized for your parcel and verified address.

We are not responsible for invalid addresses, forwarded mail or refused parcels and will not refund or pay return shipping.

Return postage will be calculated at our actual cost, not the discounted rate of $9.00 we offer on original purchases.

We will contact you via messages with a link to the shipping listing which will be active for 100 days.

After the 100 day period the listing will expire and the parcel contents will be donated to a local charity when appropriate.

    Allergy and sensitivities

We use products that may be made with nuts, dairy, soy, plant materials, essential oils and fragrances.

There is always the possibility for cross exposure within our studio/lab. People with sensitivities or allergies should consider avoiding scented and fragrances products.

Many of our item listings will include the focal scents/oils we use. We do not provide inclusive lists of our essentials oils used in all of our blends and formulas as many are proprietary (trade secrets) combinations specific to our brand.

How long do our candles burn?

The burn time for our candles varies based different variables, such as wax type. wick size, fragrance and type of vessel used. For smaller candles with smaller wicks, they burn an average 7-9 hours per ounce of wax. Larger candles may have large wicks which uses more wax to burn. They burn about 5-7 hours per ounce. Our speciality candles with beeswax blends may burn 7-9 hours per ounce, while our tea lights average 5-6 hours each.
Following our candle care and instruction guide will give you the best burn from each candle. Be sure to read and follow your candle care card included with your order.

After purchasing a sample size of this lotion, I knew I wanted a full size. I can’t describe this lovely scent, but I can definitely smell the deep and rich scent of the resins and it has become one of my favorite lotions from this shop!

smells amazing ! obsessed with the 1692 scent ! i have the candle as well :)

A unique, sultry, witchy scent that lasts but isn’t overbearing. I bought a sample first and bought the full size the next time I placed one of my regular orders. Shipping was quick, there’s always a few gifts and all presented and packed beautifully. There’s a reason I order so often!
